My Work : (Production Designer)

I started off as the original designer for this film, but when Byron had trouble finding a co-director, I stepped up to take on the director's role. Even though I thought my main job would be in production design, I ended up getting deeply involved in directing the whole project.

There wasn't much to do for production design, especially with filming taking place in nature. But what I really enjoyed was working on the costumes. I liked showcasing the characters' roles, personalities, and jobs through their outfits. One idea I came up with was having the future wife sitting in the park, painting on an easel instead of just drawing. It made the scene look dreamy, fitting the overall look we wanted for the film.

Even though set design wasn't a big part of this film, I learned a lot about costumes, makeup, and small props like sandwiches, pens, notebooks, and the painting itself. The flowers on the bench weren't planned; they were left there by a family on memorial day in remembrance of their loved ones. It added a heartfelt touch to the film that wasn't originally intended.
