My Work (Production Designer) : 

As the Production Designer for this film, I worked closely with the director for several months to carefully plan the decoration of the Italian location, making sure it fits seamlessly with the storyline. One of the toughest parts was turning our plans into reality, especially since all our prep work happened in the UK, and I only had online pictures of the house.

Not knowing the actual location and the size of the house presented a challenge. I had to make difficult decisions about the setting, aiming to use as much as possible from the Italian location and minimizing the need to bring stuff from the UK. This process required creative problem-solving and adaptability, showing my ability to overcome challenges in a clever way.

On the costume design side, communication and teamwork were crucial. Meeting with the actors helped me understand their sizes and figure out the best colors that complemented their skin tones. This collaboration led to carefully chosen color palettes that enhanced the characters' visual appeal.

Throughout the project, I gained valuable insights into how colors and production design impact storytelling. Working closely with the director, I learned how strategic choices in colors and design elements can lift a narrative, creating a visually engaging experience for the audience.

This experience also allowed me to develop my skills in script breakdown for production design. I learned to analyze a script carefully, identifying key elements that guide the design requirements for each scene. This skill was crucial in turning the director's vision into practical and visually captivating sets.

In addition to script breakdown, I improved my ability to create an expense sheet for the department. Effectively managing the budget is crucial in any production, and I took on the responsibility of estimating costs, making sure resources were used efficiently to meet the creative demands of the project. This experience deepened my understanding of the practical aspects of production design, from concept to execution.

I also embraced the challenge of creating an estimated budget, developing a keen sense of financial responsibility in the context of production design. Balancing creative vision and fiscal responsibility highlighted the many facets of my role and reinforced my commitment to delivering excellence in every aspect of film production.
