Transforming Loneliness into Teddy Bear Magic
"Party Popper" is about a young boy excited for his birthday, but when no one shows up and wind disrupts his outdoor decorations, he decides to fix things. He discovers a box of teddy bears that come to life when arranged who make his birthday special.
Directing "Party Popper" was a unique and challenging experience, marked by a combination of factual elements and unforeseen problems. Taking on the responsibility of directing a crew and bringing to life a story written by another author presented a significant learning curve. Balancing the original vision with my own creative interpretation was a delicate task, one that required a thoughtful approach to ensure the film captured both the essence of the script and my personal cinematic style.
One notable challenge was the decision to film on 16mm, adding complexity to the production. Technical difficulties, including a camera malfunction where the film got stuck, tested my ability to troubleshoot and remain calm under pressure. Having been trained in operating the equipment, I was able to contribute to resolving the issue, underscoring the importance of adaptability in filmmaking.
